Long Gong matches
Welcome to the Long Gong match at PSC
Long Gong is a fairly new competition (only 3 years old) that is quickly spreading across the country, and world. Over the last 5 years, 22LR shooting has become very popular and is growing all the time. PSC Long Gong is a low key, fun and challenging match that is a response to the proliferation of 22LR shooting and the match is suitable for shooters of all ages and is suitable for family
Long Gong is 22LR rifles only shot at various size (8”, 6” & 4”) steel gongs at 300 yards. The goal of the match is to accumulate points earned by impacting the intended steel gong. Impacts on the different targets equate to point values for match score: 1 point for 8” impacts, 2 points for 6” impacts, and 3 points for 4” impacts. Hit to move on, but moving on is at the shooter’s option. Points are accumulated over five 10-round stages.
Who Can Shoot
The PSC Long Gong match is open to PSC members and non-members.
Schedule
The match is shot on range 1 (rifle range) on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
8:00 to 8:50 – open sighter period / 8:50 to 9:00 safety / match brief / 9:00 match start.
Match Entry Fee:
$15 for PSC members / $20 for non-members.
Optional cash shooters pool.
What you need
- A 22LR rifle with a scope optic sight. To eliminate hold over at 300 yards, the scope should be able to accommodate dialing elevation up approximately 12 MILS / 43 MOA from a 50 yard zero.
- Front and rear supports (bag or bipod front support, and bag rear support.
- One box / 50 rounds of 22LR ammo for the match; plus any amount of ammo to be used in the open sighter period.
- Empty chamber indicator devise.
- PSC mandatory eye and ear protection. Note: with 22LR shooting, foam ear plugs or similar are sufficient.
- Ice bottled water shall be provided.
- A folding chair (optional).
