New shooters between ages 12 and 18 are always welcome.

It is not necessary to have attended previous sessions or to be a member of PSC. Parent participation is encouraged. However, please remember that if the child has not already obtained one, he or she must have a signed Parental Consent Form before participating. This form is also available on the PSC website, www.PSCshootingClub.com under the Forms tab.  A copy may also be obtained and signed at the range by showing up a few minutes early with a parent.

The time and place are the 2nd Saturday of the month, at the PSC blue clubhouse building.

This match is an all steel competition where the competitor shoots at five steel targets. The order you engage the targets is up to you but one target is designated the stop plate and must be shot last. We shoot 6 different stages with 5 steel targets on each stage. You shoot each stage 5 times and throw out your worst time. Your score is a total of all stages. The stages are easy enough for the first time shoot and still challenging for the more experienced shooter. Come out and test your skills or compete with a friend. The match is open to PSC members and non-members.  Math quiz:  6 stages X 5 tries X 5 rounds per = 150 rounds.  That's if you never miss.

This is an orientation and Club tour required for all new members joining the Club.  Prior registration is required.  Significant administrative work is required to prepare, therefore NO WALK-INS will be allowed to attend.  NO EXCEPTIONS!!

PROOF OF MEMBERSHIP IN TSRA, NRA or GOA:  When you register for this Orientation, you will be required to upload proof that you are a member of either the TSRA, NRA or GOA.  This can be a pdf copy or photo of your membership card, magazine lable or other proof provided by the organization.

PRO-RATED DUES:  The PSC membeship year is July 1st through June 30th.  Members joining in April, May or June will pay the prorated dues ($21/month) for the remainder of the current membership year, plus the full dues for upcoming year.  This is to prevent Members from joining and then having to renew only a few weeks after joining the Club.  Additionally, they will pay the one-time Initiation Fee of $220.

Are you looking for something fun to do with that new gun you just bought. Are you bored with going to the range and shooting the same boring targets. Come out and join us in one of the fastest growing shooting sports in the country. USPSA shooting has all of the elements of shooting combined in a single match. We have shooting while moving, shooting at moving targets and combine reloads all in a single course of fire. We shoot paper targets and reactive steel targets. You say that you don’t feel comfortable shooting while moving. No problem. You can shoot at your own pace and advance as you learn. We will assign a mentor to help you through the match and become a better shooter. You do not have to be a member of the PSC range or USPSA to shoot the local match.

For decades, PSC shot IDPA matches.  Due to numerous repeated rule changes, the Club has dropped its IDPA affiliation and now shoots what we call "PSC Outlaw Matches."  Our match rules are much like IDPA matches several years ago, with some very significant improvements.

Each match consists of a number of different scenarios that simulate realistic defensive shooting situations.  A competitor receives a score for each scenario in the match and the lowest total score wins.  The score is a composite of the raw time to shoot each scenario, plus time added for points down on targets and any procedural penalties

To shoot this match, you will need all three guns since all will be used at each stage:

• Pistol - 9mm, 40s&w, 45acp
• Shotgun - 12ga or 20ga
   Bird shots lead only #6 or smaller no slugs
• PCC - 9mm, 40s&w, 45acp

Shooter's meeting at 8:00am and hammer down at 8:30am.

Due to extreme heat in July. August and Sept., the match will include only the PCC portion in the Pistol Bays.  This will allow us to finish the match before the truly oppressive heat hits!!  We will be back to the regular match format in October.

Course Length: 
The time listed is an estimate as it can vary by the number of questions asked and the time spent on the shooting portion of the course.  The minimum times are 4 to 6 hours for the classroom, plus at least 1 hour of range instruction, then the shooting the qualification course and the exam.  

Equipment Required:
Handgun .22 or higher caliber
50 rds ammo minimum, 100 rds recommended (in case you have to shoot a 2nd time)
Eye Protectoin
Ear Protection

Lunch:
We won't take a lunch break, but it is recommended to bring a lunch or snack.  We have a microwave and refregerator available for your use.

Red Dot Sights (RDS):  RDS are now approved for the LTC Course!  No magnaficed sights are allowed.

Registration is open now and it closes at noon on Thurdsay before the Saturday Class
